Significant developing project contract for power network with total of USD 113 million were signed by Mr. Qudratullah Delawari CEO, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat with Indian KEC Company for Ghazni – Kandahar transmission line in Presidential palace In Presence of His Excellency Muhammad Ashraf Ghani, President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Minister of water and Power, cabinet members, respected parliament and provincial council representatives.

Contract with KEC Company for 220 KV transmission line that approximately contain 350 KM from Ghazni to Kandahar, and it costs US$ 113,180,017.90 (US Dollar One hundred and thirteen million One hundred and eighty thousand Seventeen and Ninety Cents) Project is funded by USAID. In turn, there are five substations from Ghazni to Qara Bagh, Moqor, Shah Joi, Qalat and east of Kandahar, and will connect to the power network system. 

Project completion is 29 months from implementing of the contract date.

Whereas, last week, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat also signed for launching of 10 MW Kandahar solar power project with Dynasty Company which will completed in the coming 15 months.

These project contracts are to achieve Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat goals for distribution of electricity to remote distances of Afghanistan.

Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) is an independent and autonomous company established under The Corporations and Limited Liabilities Law of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (IROA). DABS is a limited liability company with all its equity shares owned by the Government of Afghanistan (GoA). The company was incorporated on 4th May 2008 (15 Saur 1387) and replaces Da Afghanistan Breshna Moassassa (DABM) as the national power utility. DABS will operate and manage electric power generation, import, transmission, and distribution throughout Afghanistan on a commercial basis.
