Inauguration of First Number Turbine of Naghlu Power Dam

Naghlu Hydroelectric Power Plant is one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the country, today during a special ceremony opening its first number turbine after the reconstruction, by chief executive officer of DABS and a number of National council members.
The production capacity of the turbine is 25 MW, which currently produces 15 MW in cause of water shortage.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Company has contracted a first machine repair project, a major repair of the third machine, and the provision of essential parts of the Naghlu power, worth $ 6.6 million on December 27, 2014, with the international renowned (Russian Inter- Rao) was signed, the first turbine reconstruction work was completed and put into operation and the rebuilding of the third turbine is ongoing.
Naghlu hydroelectric power plant is one of the largest hydroelectric power plant in Afghanistan, located in 70 KM east of Kabul.
This station has been built above the Kabul and Logar Sea, where the waters of Ghorband-Salang, Shutul and Panjshir are joined.
It should be noted that, the construction of the Naghlu hydroelectric power plant was start in 1960 and completed in 1967, with a construction and storage tunnel up to a height of 1155M, which was installed from 1969 to 1974 four machine of Naghlu power plants in a total capacity of 100MW was started.
