The joint energy summit between Afghan government and the friendly country of Uzbekistan was held for two days at the ADB headquarters in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
At this meeting, Mr. Almas Zakhilwal, Deputy Minister of Energy and Water, Eng. Amanullah Ghalib, Chief Executive Officer of DABS, Mr. Shirzad Khadijev, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Jahangir Obedyev, Mr. Hamed Durani, and Mr. Erig Barigan, representative of Energy Sector of Asian Development Bank, were participated.
The key goals of the meeting are to invite development cooperation in order to strengthen the energy sector of the country in terms of agreeing on the purchase and sale of energy, energy development, consolidation and continuation of long-term cooperation with Afghanistan.
The meeting will also assess how the energy projects are being developed, and will discuss the problems and projects that are delayed due to technical reasons.
Also during a separate meeting, Mr. Almas Zakhilwal, Deputy Minister of Energy and Water and Eng. Amanullah Ghalib, Chief Executive Officer of DABS with Mr. Ashok Bhargava, Director, Central and West Asia Department, Energy Division, on how Afghanistan's energy projects works all over the country.
