Eng. Amanullah Ghalib, Chief Executive Officer of DABS, met in his office with a number of Kandahar representatives in the Wolesi Jirga.
During the meeting, representatives of Kandahar discussed on the process of Kajaki Dam work, solar power projects in Kandahar and decreasing the Kandahar electricity tariffs.
Mr. Ghalib warmly welcomed them, then said that the first phase of the Kajaki dam is capable to generate 51 MW energy and the second phase generate 100 MW, which is also under process. He added that the slowdown work of dam is security issue and about the solar projects of Kandahar which currently has 30 MW of solar power and another is 10 MW will be completed and put into operation by Dynasty Company in the near future.
Mr. Ghalib said we are trying to increase the solar projects because Kandahar is a province with high solar power, pointing to decrease the electricity tariffs in Kandahar, said that the tariff has also been decreased recently and for further cooperation we are offering your suggestion to the board and after its approval we will take the next step.
At the end Mr. Ghalib pointed out that DABS has plan to build a transmission line from Kajaki to Kandahar to improve electricity services in Kandahar province.
Then, representative of Kandahar in Wolesi Jirga appreciated for the cooperation of Chief Executive Officer of DABS and pledged their full cooperation to DABS.
It is to be noted that, the meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmad Kamin, Haji Sayed Ahmad Khadim, Sayed Ahmad Selab and Khalil Ahmad Mojahed, representatives of Kandahar in the Wolesi Jirga.
