In Arghandi area of Paghman district of Kabul, the 220.20KV Arghandi substation was inaugurated today and practically put into operation by the high-ranking officials.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Eng. Amanullah Ghalib, Chief Executive Officer of DABS, Mohammad Yaqub Haidari, Kabul Governor, Mohammad Fahim Safi, Head of Siemens Company in Afghanistan, Chairman and number of Kabul provincial councils, elders of district and a number of DABS employees.
Congratulation to the people of Afghanistan the opening of Arghandi substation, said Mr. Ghalib added: "This is an important national project and can address the problems of power shortage, low quality and quantity of the electricity.
The capacity of substation is 126 MWA, which will reduce the power shortage of Kabul and its neighboring provinces.The project started on June 28, 2016.
The project cost about $ 20 million, which has been funded by the Asian Development Bank. It is to be noted that, the implementation of this project was carried out by Siemens Contracting Company, which was supervised by DABS.
